Stop Violence Campaign, BWCC together with PLN and BenihBaik Conduct Incense Making Training
The Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Bali Women Crisis Center (WCC) held an incense making training which was attended by mothers who live in Banjar Kekeran, Penatahan Village, Penebel District, Tabanan, Bali on Wednesday (14/12/2022).
Incense itself is one of the tools used every day by Hindus to pray. Almost every day Hindus buy incense. That is one of the goals of LBH BWCC in holding this training.
This inspiring event has the full support of PLN and BenihBaik. Representatives of BenihBaik then started the event by handing over the seeds of the musang king durian tree to the Banjar Kekeran community, represented by the Head of Penatahan Village Head and the Regent of Tabanan. After that, then the mothers make incense carefully.
Ni Kadek Ariasih, a female participant with disabilities who attended the incense making training, said she was very proud to be able to take part in this training. He admitted that he had attended training from the WCC several times. Such as handicrafts, making hair ties, making culinary chicken betutu and potato chips.
“Because I myself enjoy participating in training and webinars. So that I can gain knowledge, get insight into getting to know new people, and be able to add to my product collection so that it is more varied so I can sell it,” said Ariasih.
Meanwhile, founder of the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Bali Women Crisis Center (WCC) as well as Observer for Children and Women, Ni Nengah Budawati or Buda said, the incense wrappers resulting from this training conveyed many meanings. On the incense pack, there are three campaign inscriptions namely stop violence against women and children, end human trafficking and end the injustice of economic access for women.
“We realize that domestic violence is often the trigger because of a woman's dependence on her husband's or partner's economy. Women often have unequal economic access,” she said.
Buda hopes that with this training, many mothers will be helped and can open up business opportunities. So that besides being able to help husbands to earn income it can also make them financially independent.
